The Most Anticipated Albums Of 2009

2009 has started off on a bad musical-foot for me as I just downloaded Moz's new album Years Of Refusal and it's so bad it makes Ringleader sound good. It's really kind of embarrassing. Every aspect of it stinks:

  • the music (Whyte, Boorer and Tobias are all guilty)
  • the vocal melodies (or lack thereof)
  • the lyrics (same old tired subject matter, with less wit than ever)
  • the production (and I had actually liked Finn's production on Quarry)

Such a bummer since Quarry was one of his finest albums ever, and that wasn't really that long ago. Moz needs to just go away for a long time and "dream it all up again"; but of course he won't cause he's having more success in the UK than ever before.

That being said, we've got a lot of albums to look forward to this year (in alpha order):

dude, the moz is good. we must have been listening to different albums.

still holding out hope for starsailor, eh?

ha! no, not really, just thought i'd include them for the hell of it.

haha! that was funny. I actually did laugh out loud.

Good to see trash can boys back on! sweeet!

I have to say, that I am practically foaming at the mouth for the new A Camp.

'it's not your birthday anymore' is kinda good. you don't hate it enough to change your email address do you?

The new Starsailor is actually pretty good (for them).

Their last couple albums have su-ucked, so who knows - they might be back!

Don't forget a new Rifles record this year. They rocked opening for Weller last fall.
