Air Traffic announce first-ever full U.S. tour

Bournemouth 4-piece Air Traffic have announced their first-ever full U.S. tour. The first 6 dates will be supporting Elbow, while the rest of the dates are headlining. I saw Air Traffic live here in LA last year and they were really good, so I recommend checking 'em out.

The band's debut album, Fractured Life, was released in the U.S. last year via Astralwerks and is a nicely varied affair. It's got Keane-like piano balladry ("Shooting Star"), Blur-like guitar pop ("Charlotte"), and there's even a song that sounds like Morten Harket of A-ha fronting Elbow ("No More Running Away", vid below.)

Air Traffic North American tour dates:

May 2 Denver, CO - Bluebird Theatre [w/ Elbow]
May 3 Salt Lake City, UT - The Depot [w/ Elbow]
May 5 Seattle, WA - Showbox [w/ Elbow]
May 6 Vancouver, BC - St. Andrews Wesley Church [w/ Elbow]
May 8 San Francisco, CA Bimbo's 365 [w/ Elbow]
May 9 Los Angeles, CA Avalon [w/ Elbow]
May 10 Los Angeles, CA - Spaceland
May 11 San Diego, CA - Soma
May 12 Phoenix, AZ - Brickhouse
May 14 Dallas, TX - House of Blues Cambridge Room
May 15 Tulsa, OK - Bob at Cain's
May 17 Kansas City, MO - Record Bar

Out in the U.S. on Tuesday

Here's the good stuff that's out in the U.S. on Tues April 8th...

Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours [album stream. 2nd album from Melbourne trio. "So Haunted" live vid above. I never paid attention to their first album, but then they were one of the best surprises at SXSW last month. A few tracks on this new album sound a hell of a lot like New Order/Electronic, and that's a good thing. Enjoy!]

The Duke Spirit - Neptune [2nd album from female-fronted London 5-piece. "The Step And The Walk" vid above. Another band who I never paid any attention to their first album, but now this new album turns out to be really quite good!]
