Delays release "Hooray" video; new album out in May

Is it just me or can Delays do no wrong? This video for upcoming single "Hooray" reminds me once again that they're definitely one of my favorite bands of the decade. Not only is this a great song, but it also has a video which worth watching all the way thru. Now that's a combo that rarely ever occurs anymore! The key to the video is the cheerleaders making great use of their giant cube props. Watch and enjoy.

"Hooray" will be released as a single in the UK on April 28th, and the band's third album, Everything's The Rush, will be released in the UK on May 5th. No word on a U.S. release, so save up those pennies to buy the import!

=====

BTW: I'm still really enjoying the tracks from Diego Garcia (of Elefant) that are on his myspace. Definitely check them out if you haven't already.

my sxsw recap

Here's a recap of who I checked out at SXSW along with a few crappy cell-phone pix!

My top 6 bands of the week were:

Other bands I saw:

Here are the bands I didn't get to check out:

This was my 9th year to attend SXSW and for my tastes it was by far the weakest lineup ever. There were just far too many generic post-Libertines bands: The Law, Look See Proof, The Dykeenies, The Answering Machine, The Voom Blooms.

Which is a bummer since there are countless "new" UK bands who should have been there: Ghosts, The Twang, Air Traffic, The Hours, Lucky Soul, GoodBooks, Candie Payne, Tiny Dancers, The Rumble Strips, The Enemy, Apartment, Polytechnic, Reverend & The Makers etc.
