Nice list. I especially agree with Cut Copy.
I need to listen to more of that Keane album. On first listen it felt like a disappointment, but I need to listen to it again. Same with Delays.

Keane and Delays are disappointments compared to their previous albums, but they're still better than most the other albums released this year.
I think it was a pretty weak year for music. Lots of "good" albums, but very few "great" albums.

I think The Last Shadow Puppets were a disappointment. There's a couple of killer tunes on the album but generally it's not up to Alex Turner's usual genius level.
The Seldom Seen Kid, however, is the best album of the 2000s.
I think album-wise this has been a very strong year. Glasvegas, Albert Hammond Jr., Damon Albarn's "Monkey", Oasis, Guillemots, MGMT, Supergrass... lots and lots of great LPs.

I felt Canada had strong showing this year with releases from bands like Plants and Animals, Born Ruffians and Wolf Parade. All three are in my top ten favourites of this year.

for my money, no album delivered as many knock-out punches as that Republic Tigers LP. And I was really surprised by how strong Ryan Adams' new one is. Yet overall, I gotta give it to Elbow, they continue their streak of platinum-quality releases, and even make Jarvis Cocker palatable!
Great picks, my only addition would be of the folk/pop variety - have you heard Priscilla Ahn's album "A Good Day"? It's bullet-proof, innovative and well-written (if a little warm and campfire cozy in places)

Good list! The new James album ("Hey Ma") is amazing...almost as good as "Seven" and better than "Laid" or anything since in my opinion. Also really like the debut Courteeners and Rifles albums...very British sounding. Paul Heaton's solo album is pleasantly surprising and I Am Kloot's album is very low-fi and very underrated.
