Out in the UK on Monday
Singles:
Mystery Jets - "Two Doors Down" [Vid above. Really good '80's-pop-tastic 2nd single from Twenty One. It's good enough that I'll excuse the sax solo at the end of it!]
Elbow - "One Day Like This" [Vid. 2nd single from their 4th album. One of the b-side is a cover of The Cure's "Lullaby".]
Yeti - "Don't Go Back To The One You Love" [Vid. 1st single from 2nd album by ex-Libertines bassist.]
Joe Lean... - "Where Do You Go?" [Vid. Their debut album is out next month.]
Morrissey - "All You Need Is Me" [Vid. I'm not sure which is worse, the song or the sleeve?]
Lisa Mitchell - Welcome To The Afternoon EP [Vid. Debut from girl who was on Aussie Idol. Someone from a show like that doing something good?!]
Albums:
The Thirst - On The Brink [Vid. Debut from Brixton 4-piece.]
Sambassadeur - Migration [Vid. 2nd album from female-fronted indie-pop band from Gothenburg.]
Torr, I am not sure why you bash "All you need is me." It is one of Moz's best songs in years. It hearkens back to his Your Arsenal days. Moreover, the lyrics are incredible.
There's a naked man standing/laughing in your dreams/You know who it is/But you don't like what it means
You don't like me, but you love me/Either way you're wrong/You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
BRILLIANT!

I also think All You Need Is Me is a really catchy and energetic track. The video was also really cool, his backing band looks really youthful now, the colourful t-shirt look is nice and summery.
... And here's to hoping the new Elbow single becomes a gigantic summer hit!

"all you need is me" is good, but not great. it's basically what you should expect from an extra track for a compilation.
here's hoping jerry finn brings the magic back that he was able to unearth out of moz in "you are the quarry".

That elbow tune was great... as was the video.
Sambassadeur was really suprising and definitely something to watch.

weller needs to get on the horn with foxton and buckler, pronto. because his schtick has gotten more and more played as he's gotten older.
all hail the king of "dad-rock"

That Mystery Jets single is brilliant. I'm going to check out their album.

I've been listening to the Mystery Jets for a while, and I never realized that the lead singer Blaine had spina bifida. He walks around everywhere with crutches. Also what is very cool is that Blaine's 55 year old father is a guitarist for the band. So it is like four 20 year olds and a 55 year old guy. Awesome!

Jonny, the dad has now left the band. Sorry!
