This is just creepy and weird, even more so than the previous videos in this series he's been doing. Brett Anderson covering "Beautiful" (you'll know it from the Christina Aquilara version.)
If his solo album is even decent I will be amazed.

I liked Beautiful right from when it came out, it's a great tune. This version was good too, Brett sings well (although the lyrics doesn't sound as convincing as if it was sung by a girl ;-)).
I also liked The Tears' album, it's a real shame they're not making another one (at least just now).
The other tunes Brett's been posting on YouTube have not been so great. Although it might have something to do with the really stripped-down performances. Still, no great melodies or anything. And the version of Europe... was pointless, I think.

fyi, the Tower in DC had like every Tears single for 70% last week. You might check in LA now (it is about to close for good).

I've bought about 20 singles since Tower started going under!

He does a fine job of this song. Not bad at all.

Torr......what a dumb thing to say. But I have come to expect that sort of rubbish from you....the tunes Brett has put on youtube are good. This is a nicely sung cover of a classic pop song...whats the problem?
Go listen to Beirut

I just feel that Brett Anderson covering a song like this is a bit jumping the shark.
Beirut are awful.

What about Embrace covering D12 and De La Soul and other things like that?

Jumping the shark...?
Brett has always confessed to liking mainstream pop music.....it's not like this will be on the LP....it's an oddity for fans. Nothing more....
You seem like the type to also adhere to the idea that Suede were shit after Coming Up right? Please prove me wrong...
