Jarvis' solo album ready to go

Jarvis Cocker's self-titled debut solo album will be released in the UK on Nov 13. No word on a u.s.  release date.

The tracklisting for the album does not include "[Cunts Are Still] Running the World" which is on his myspace. But the track does feature in the closing credits of the film Children Of Men, which is out in the U.S. Dec 29th. Obscure Sound has an mp3 of the track and the two songs from Harry Potter.

Jarvis will be playing a few shows around the release:

Dublin Point Theatre (October 4-5)
London Barbican Hall (21)
Paris La Cigale (November 12)
London KOKO (15)
London Roundhouse (16)

And in this week's NME he says:

"I've always liked people who mess up. I don't like career people - it doesn't seem very appropriate when it comes to music which is about something emotional. Reading an interview with Razorlight is just like reading The Economist, saying 'Yeah, well we're going to be really big in America and we think this album's going to follow up the next one' - that's what the record company should be saying, not the people in the band.

"And even The Rapture, who I like, there was an article about them I read which just seemed to be about them being managed by the same people who manage U2. I just thought 'Why do I want to know that?' That's not what music's about. I don't care who they're managed by. I don't care who makes their guitars. I don't care how many records they've sold, really, I just want to know whether they've got anything to say and whether they're interesting."
