Delays have returned. Watch the vid for the 1st single which is out in the UK in Feb...
- "Valentine" [.wmv 3:58, a minute shorter than the album version.]
Their debut Faded Seaside Glamour was one of my favorite albums of the past few years. The new album You See Colours (which is out in the UK in March) is much more 80's-electronic, somewhat like their post-album single "Lost In A Melody." Here are some tracks from the new album...
- "Cavalry" [4:43]
- "Take Your Heart From Your Sleeve" [3:10]
nice album, less catchy than the debut one

Unfourtunately it's a big dissapointment after the amazing debut album.

if the new electronic direction they're taking means the keyboardist brother will have something musical to do onstage -- and not just wander around lamely dancing while drinking a beer -- i'm all for it.

haha, yeah, he'll have more to do live now, but unfortunately it's resulted in weaker tunes.

Whoa, that video was...odd.
Thanks for the mp3s! I don't like them quite as much as the first album's but maybe they'll grow on me.

Well, that new single definitely isn't "Hey Girl".
And as such, I don't think I'll keep a close eye on the album.

that video is like something tarseem would've make in 1991. any idea who directed it?
this record sounds like 1986 (without the gated drum).

Once again I'll come to the rescue here and give my thumbs up for those new songs.
Thought they were very good, not weak at all! It's gotta definate borrowing from another time feel via (the VERY UNDERRATED!) Mansun [RIP].
I liked the comment on the brother...it's so freakin true. He is quite clueless.

These tracks are pretty much the best ones on the album. A lot of the album is sadly forgettable.
BTW: Speaking of Mansun: Paul Draper will release a solo album this year!

In the meantime, Parlophone Records are compiling a Mansun 'Best Of' album to be released in the spring, along with a special DVD edition which will include the band's videos and an exclusive documentary including unseen footage.

I think the best song is "Hideaway" - will probably do pretty well in the UK. Bands are not allowed to stink until their 3rd CD (a la Starsailor).

Looking forward to giving this a listen.
Haha. Agree with the "3rd CD" streaker, as to poster "xolondon".

the album is really growing on me, key tracks: "Too Much In Your Life", "Take Your Heart From Your Sleeve", "Hideaway", "Out Of Nowhere."
