Charlotte leaves Ash
From ash-official.com
After 9 years Ash and Charlotte Hatherley have mutually agreed to part company. The decision is completely amicable and they wish each other the very best for the future. Ash are returning to the studio later this year to make the follow up to 2004's Meltdown album. Charlotte is currently recording tracks for her second solo abum (following Grey Will Fade) which she plans to release in the Autumn this year.!
This is probably best for all involved as neither of those albums were very good! Charlotte will be performing at SXSW in March, though her solo album never got a U.S. release.
i wonder who they'll replace her with. with the feminine backing vocals and two guitar parts, it'd be highly unlikely for them to revert to being a 3-piece. unless perhaps they do that and just add someone for live performances.

I doubt they'll ever officially replace her, they were a 3-piece for years so they'll probably call the next album "back to fookin' basics."

I really hated their metal direction on the last album. I enjoy most of their material, but man, the last album was garbage! I mean, look at the cover! Looks like the new album for some generic tribal tattoo covered nu-metal band....hopefully they were just taking the piss or something.

dude.. I think they were serious about that metal album.. I miss the old ash... playing in parkas and digging in the snow for guitars..
ah.. those were the days

Look at the sleeve for Free All Angels, even when their music was good they had awful design-sense!
