Electric Soft Parade will release a six-track EP of new material titled The Human Body in the UK on Nov 28th via Truck Records. ESP released an amazing debut album in 2002 but followed it up with a downright crappy sophomore album which fared so poorly that BMG dropped 'em. Earlier this year they released a suprisingly jokey and not any good album with Eamon from British Sea Power and Marc from The Tenderfoot under the name Brakes.
Marc and Tom recently became band #843 to diss punching-bags The Bravery in an interview with TheTripwire:
Marc: "...too many bands out there get really fussy about keeping an idea about what they do and it gives them limitation, like The Bravery. Their latest single, I don’t know what it is called, but it came on the radio. I was back in England when we were driving around in the van and it came on. I knew it was The Bravery, but I couldn’t tell if it was their first single or second, but it sounded exactly like the same kind of stuff out there. So we try to do different styles and it’s healthy as musicians to try different things.”
Tom: “Also I think a lot of people form bands because they have a favorite band or whatever and their whole vibe is to emulate that look. Um, I don’t really know who the Bravery rip off, but it seems like a lot of garage bands just kind of have one influence and therefore that song is going to sound the same and they are going to all have the same approach."
Really? I liked the Brakes record- it's good to listen to on a night out- admittedly a drunken night out.

I don't really have an drunken nights out, so that would explain me not liking the Brakes album :-)

Wow, I forgot about this particular album. Never even knew they released a crappy sophomore.
Brakes, huh? Been reading a lot on them. I can't say anyting about them since I never heard a single track by them.
